That article is going to be different than what I’m used to writing. No ‘tips & tricks’ or ‘how to’ type of post this time, rather something motivational. The gap between you and an A-list blogger e.g. Darren Rowse is not huge. The money invested doesn’t make the difference. Persistence, focus and will to succeed do! Keep reading to see my bet on the benefits blogging offers over a normal job. They will hopefully keep you motivated and going with your blogging tasks when times are tough.
Full FreedomIsn’t that great? Freedom is without a doubt the best thing that comes with blogging. That is something you can never reach with a normal job, since the second you stop obeying is the second you become unemployed. When blogging you can do things your way, without someone telling you how wrong or inefficient that is. Instead of taking orders, you are the one in charge. You tweak your design and color schemes to suit your taste and not someone else’s. You write on the topic you are passionate about. Those things and a lot more would otherwise be far beyond your grasp.
The Sky’s the LimitThat one is probably a consequence to the freedom you get. Still worth including it as a separate paragraph. You might be one of the best employees in the company you are working for. It is of another matter what the CEO thinks about it though. Having an idea that can benefit your company greatly is one thing, but getting it approved by your boss is something totally different. All in all you can hardly utilize your full potential and capabilities. And why doing it? In the end you might not even get the promotion you were hoping for. As for blogging exactly the opposite is valid. As long as you have the skills and knowledge, you can reach heights you never dreamed of.
You Have a Flexible ScheduleAs a blogger it is all up to you to decide what to do with your time, when to work and when to take a rest. Having full control over that factor can make miracles to your effectiveness. Working when you don’t feel like doing it is not going to be productive at all and in the end you will probably have to start all over. Then again an awesome idea can strike you at 3pm. No problem – you turn on the laptop, start writing and 30 minutes later you have an article worth sharing. The flexibility you have is just amazing!
Take a Break Whenever You WantWant to take day off from blogging? Maybe two or why not even three – it’s all up to you! After having built some solid traffic figures, you can just sit back and relax for a few days each month. That gives you plenty of time to do the things you love. A walk with your friends, a tour to your favorite destination or just some fishing – whatever you like! That same thing is easier said than done when you have a 9-5 job.
Choose Your Colleagues“Colleagues” maybe isn’t the right word. “Friends” is probably a better fit, because that is what blogging is all about – making friends and giving a helping hand to each other. You just need to find like-minded people whom you would like to collaborate with. A simple comment can be the start of a conversation and why not to a new friendship! It is not hard at all. I can even say that building relationships online can be somewhat easier as opposed to doing it in the “real” world, face to face.
To ConcludeThat was just a portion of the pros blogging gives you. There are a lot more, but I decided to cut them down to the most important ones, so boredom doesn’t take over you. I hope that the article served its purpose and motivated you at least a little. Keep pushing and you will see that blogging is a worthwhile undertaking! In the meantime don’t hesitate sharing your two cents in the comments section! It is always appreciated.
