7 Ways To Show Appreciation To Your Fellow Blogger

…We take many things in our lives for granted. Especially the good things that we face on daily basis may not get that much of our attention.

After reading a great book called “The Go-Giver: A Little Story About a Powerful Business Idea”, I have changed the way I appreciate things and events in my daily life. I have started doing unconditionally small favors for others – without expecting anything back.

Those little things may get ignored by the most, but I feel good about doing them still. For example, it can be as simple as opening the door for your fellow colleague or just saying good morning to someone else with a smiling face.

The appreciation doesn’t just have to exist on the offline world though. You can apply it to blogging and internet marketing as well.

Here are some ways to show appreciation for your fellow blogger or internet marketer. Some of them require a bit more work than others, but they are mostly easy to implement.

Buy Through His/Her Affiliate Link

One of the easiest ways to appreciate your fellow blogger or marketer is to buy through his/her affiliate links. It is a gesture, that costs you nothing extra if you are making the purchase anyway, but the blogger gets a small payment of his/her efforts.

Post Blog Comments that Add Value

Posting comments is a good way to get visitors to your blog, but it is also a great way of building up conversation and relationships with your fellow bloggers and marketers.

The best comments are the ones, which add something new to the conversation or a refreshing new angle to the discussion. It’s all about adding value.

There are two benefits of doing this: you feel good about sharing your information with everyone else and the blogger appreciates that you left a meaningful comment on his/her blog. You, the blogger and his/her audience wins.

Linking from a Blog to Another

If possible, I try to link from my blog post to other blogs by using the keywords the other blogger is using in his/her post. By this way you can give more search engine visibility to other blogger and you are helping in his/her SEO efforts as well.

When bigger blog links to a smaller one, in many cases the smaller blog gets a boost of traffic. You are sending that smaller blog more visitors which in turn might buy through the affiliate links on that blog or subscribe to its e-mail list.

I’m not in a position to give a big boost to another blog yet, but as my own blog grows, I’m more than willing to do that later on.

Help to Fix Some Grammatical Errors

Have you noticed a typo or spelling error in other bloggers post? Let the blogger know about it.

Rather than commenting that publicly on blog’s comment section, try to find alternative ways of contacting the person, for example through a contact page.

Sometimes the blogger may not be aware of the typos at all and it is much nicer for him/her to give discreet feedback than shouting publicly about the typos and mistakes that exists on the blog.

Comment on the Products and Services with Constructive Criticism

Have you bought a products or services created by other blogger/internet marketer, but feel that the quality is not the best possible? Let the product creator know about this.

However, instead of just bashing the product creator let the person have constructive and relevant criticism about the issues that you have found.

The creator will most probably be happy that you contacted him/her and gave some honest feedback, because that is the only way to improve the product or the service further.

Donate Money to Product Creator Using PayPal

There are many awesome digital products out there on the web which are free to download. Yet, someone has already put a lot of time and effort to make it available for you to download.

Especially if there is a PayPal’s donate button on the product download page, you can show your appreciation by donating a small sum of money to the person of the good work.

Allow or Provide Guest Posts

Don’t keep your blog just for yourself. If you have an established blog and people find it interesting to read, most likely there is also going to be other bloggers asking for guest posting possibilities.

Allowing guest posting on your blog, you are giving a possibility for other blogger to present his/her thoughts on a matter, thus giving a boost in traffic to his/her blog. And when the guest poster’s blog gets more visitors, the more that blog becomes recognized.

You can also write quality content for other blog instead of posting it to your blog. This has the same benefits as allowing others to guest post to your blog: the blog you are submitting to gets fresh quality content – yet at the same time your blog gets more visitors and your name becomes more familiar within the eyes of other bloggers.

Conclusion

Showing appreciation is a very important thing to do every day – in online world too. You make valuable connections with other people which may very well open other possibilities for you as a blogger or internet marketer.

I strongly believe that by giving more you are receiving more. Especially if you do this unconditionally and without expecting anything back.
