When it comes to blogging and internet marketing, security is an issue that is often left behind over other seemingly more important problems.
And yes, when you think about it, working on securing your blog and your blog’s content won’t have any direct impact on your bottom line…
unless a hacker breaks in and starts deleting your data that is.
So the big question you should ask yourself before even thinking about building an audience and getting traffic is how safe is your site?
Because after all the more traffic you get,
the higher the chance of a hacker deciding to hijack your blog and making use of it for their own purpose.
Namely with those security issues in mind a few weeks ago I wrote the post “ 5 Effective Ways to Improve the Security of Your WordPress Blog“. There I covered some of the more common-sense ways along with useful tools and plugins to help you limit the possibility of a hacker making a mess on your blog.
And as a supplement to that article, today I would like to share with you a really neat infographic from the guys at Who Is Hosting This. The infographic provides us with some interesting figures on the blogging platforms and the attacks they face.
What are the main weaknesses that hackers make use of to gain access What are the most common types of attacks on Joomla and WordPress blogs What are the most common problems that lead to hacking a blog What are some of the best practices for securing YOUR blogScroll down to see the infographic and please take a minute to share it with your friends if you like it!
