Most of you have probably heard the phrase “content is king”. Probably every newbie blogger knows that great content is the single most important ingredient for a successful blog. As a matter of fact, this is a topic I myself have included in a more than a single article. You are probably even fed up with reading all of those articles, telling you that you must always give your best when writing.
But isn’t all of this kinda obvious? Of course you need to publish posts that are actually worth the read. This time I will look at all of the quality content blah, blah stuff from a little different perspective. I wasn’t able to come up with a good blogging tips idea, so decided to try and motivate you a bit instead.
I’m most certain every blogger out there has had a bad feeling at least once after hitting the “publish” button, thinking that he shouldn’t have done it. Well here are four reasons not to care!
That’s exactly how it is! Although readers are critical, they are not that critical. Losing your readership just because of a single not-well-thought post is just not going to happen. Let’s say you are a regular reader of Copyblogger, Problogger or whatever other blog you can think of. Would you stop reading if one post doesn’t deliver the quality you expected? It doesn’t make sense to me.
Then again it’s all about different opinions and different points of view. The post might be bad in your eyes. It might not even get the comments, retweets and votes like your previous did. Nonetheless there will still be those folks who like it and find it useful.
There are Always Ups and DownsLife’s built all around them. One day you are feeling bad for some (often silly) reason and the next something great happens. It isn’t any different with blogging and in our case writing. Sometimes the best ideas produce less than satisfying results and other times something seemingly simple can turn into a great post. So just be happy with the ups and don’t take the downs too seriously. Looking on the positive side is always more beneficial. Like Winston Churchill’s quote goes – “I am an optimist. It does not seem too much use being anything else.”
A Bad Article Can Be a Good MotivatorMotivation – having it is extremely important when it comes to achieving goals and dealing with all of those small yet important tasks. At least for me there is hardly a better motivator than failing at something that I know it’s very important not to fail at.
A Bad Article is a Mistake You Will Learn FromI recently watched a really interesting movie on the Discovery Channel with Morgan Freeman. It explained different concepts and possible ways for travelling back in time. It pretty much turned out that we don’t and won’t have the technology anytime soon. What I really liked nonetheless was Mr. Freeman’s ending words and namely – “If we could go back and correct those mistakes, would we ever learn anything from them?”
What I want to say is that making mistakes is an absolute must. Mistakes might hold you back for a while (read more on blogging mistakes), but they are the road to success. Think about this next time you start worrying about the article you’ve just published. It will be awesome if people like it, if not – you will at least know your audience a bit better. A win-win situation if you ask me.
